We have restored a vintage house in Tarvisio for you, one of the first built in the town, which at the time was still part of the Austrian Empire.
You’ll find many of the property’s original features—from the meter-thick walls to the roof beams, the exposed wood ceilings on the upper floors, and the vaulted cellar for storing bikes and skis—which will give you a sense of the 19th century.
To help you better appreciate the uniqueness of the building, we carried out some historical research.
As recorded in old documents from the Land Registry of Pontebba, the property dates back to 1864, a time when Tarvisio was part of the Austrian Empire.
The name “Antica Ferrovia” (Ancient Railway) pays homage to the historic Pontebbana railway, which once ran through this picturesque area between Tarvisio and the Austrian border.
The old railway line, now transformed into the Alpe Adria cycle path, runs alongside our house, offering visitors the chance to experience a piece of history by pedaling through nature and memories.
